Started his own YouTube channel. Now the title may sound very hypocritical, but listen to my viewpoint on this.

I really REALLY don’t like rant youtubers. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, rant youtubers are content creators that ONLY make rant videos about something they don’t like. They might make videos about how the finale of this tv show was ruined or that this next entry in this franchise is awful and inferior to older movies, or even criticize this obscure Netflix show for whatever reason. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s ok if commentary youtubers do throw in their personal negative views on something here and there, but if that’s essentially their job then it gets pretty damn annoying for me.

I have a problem with these youtubers because I know a lot of them do it to gain a massive amount of likes. I know for a fact that saying something that goes against the grain on this new and popular show/movie/game will get TONS of views. Or if it’s the next “they ruined Minecraft” or another regurgitated Cyberpunk video, those get tons of views too. Every single one of these rant youtubers has made a video about the new Star Wars movies also, it’s the same thing over and over again.

People like Jay Exci and The Critical Drinker are prime examples of this. It’s pretty fuckin rare do they make a video on something they actually enjoy. That’s why people like Ryan Hollinger and Jacob Geller are great youtubers in my eyes, because they voice more positive opinions about things they like, and I think focusing on the positive helps our understanding on something way more than the negative. It’s also way more enjoyable to listen to.

I’m not trying to shit on anyone’s opinions about these youtubers or the things they talk about, I just fail to understand the appeal.

Did I? Because he barely tipped the guy at the counter for our coffees and that’s a massive red flag. 🚩
Everything about him screams narcissist because he kept asking me questions knowing that I’d ask questions in return. Very manipulative
