I matched with him on a dating app, and within five minutes he was calling me “the one he’s been searching for all his life.” Fine, a little cheesy, but I figured, okay, I’ll entertain it. Then he started messaging me every 30 seconds, switching from compliments to existential rants about how nobody ever understands him. I tried to slow things down, and he accused me of “playing hard to get” and told me I clearly have “commitment issues” just from not texting back immediately.
When we finally went on a date, he spent the first 20 minutes bragging about every ex he’s ever had, rating them on a scale of 1–10, while subtly comparing me to them. Then he launched into a full-blown lecture on why his life is “ruined by everyone around him” and expected me to sit there and nod along like a therapist.
Halfway through, he got offended because I checked my phone. Apparently, it was a personal attack on him. By dessert, he was theorizing that “all women are the same” and how I was secretly plotting to ghost him, which somehow ended up with him storming out, slamming the door, and then texting me for an hour afterward about how I “destroyed him emotionally.”
