I met Ryan, or as he introduced himself, “Jake,” in February of this year. We were in an intimate/sexual relationship online until about a week ago.
I was under the impression this whole time that Ryan and Megan were in the middle of divorcing/separating. He referred to her as his roommate, and he said the arrangement was like a business transaction.
Looking back, I obviously regret staying and all the times I left, I should have never come back to him. He felt like a safe space; even after everything, it was a routine, it was normal to me.
Am I doing this out of maliciousness? Categorically, no. I mean, there were strong feelings between him and me. In the end, though, I knew something wasn’t right, and he wasn’t telling the whole truth. I wanted to tell his wife, or so I thought, the separated/divorced “roommate.” When he would talk to me on his drives home from work, I could not help but feel guilty and practically cry because I would think about her, and I didn’t even know this woman.
It came down to this: If I was her, would I want to know if my spouse was cheating? That’s what I struggled with morally because I wanted to make sure if I did tell her, it was coming from the right place and not out of hate or revenge for him.
He told me he was taking her out to dinner last Sunday and telling her everything. I have not heard a single thing since then, so I’m not even sure if she knows everything because she hasn’t reached out to me yet. And I’m assuming if he did tell her, he didn’t tell her everything. Well, this is what I’m going to show and tell whoever is paying attention to this, and I’m hoping one of you are one of Megan’s closest friends or family. And if you’re one of Ryan’s friends too, don’t hesitate to reach out; I don’t have anything to hide myself.
Sadly, though, Ryan has too much to hide. And all he’s doing is hurting the people closest to him, and it needs to stop because, honestly, I don’t even think he realizes what he’s doing is wrong. And let me emphasize this: he has done it before. It was mentioned in one of our various conversations. Just because you give a fake name on the internet, that doesn’t mean it will save you.
